Non Toxic Dehumidifiers
The best dehumidifier keeps your home mold-free and absorbs moisture to keep your indoor humidity levels optimal at 40-50%. But, most dehumidifier brands are notorious for breaking often and being loud, heavy, plastic-intensive machines. These are better options, made with less plastic, quieter operation, and more reliability.

Deverse GRS Certified Recycled Plastic Dehumidifier
This is a newer brand, released in mid-2025, so while we don't know yet if these will have better longevity than the vast majority of other dehumidifier brands, Deverse is a step in the right direction in terms of plastic — it has GRS certification, which means the recycled plastic its made of is verified by a third party to have fewer harmful chemical additives in it, making it a safer choice for touching and emptying. So far, it's well-rated for performance, including having an easy-to-empty water bucket, and is affordable.
Homelabs 8 Pint Quiet and Small Dehumidifier
This Homelabs dehumidifier is small, portable, and super quiet at just 38 decibels. I am extremely skeptical it is capable of covering 1,800 square feet, which is more on par with an industrial grade high capacity dehumidifier, so I strongly recommend pairing this with an inexpensive hygrometer for tracking humidity and making sure it's doing the job. Depending on the size of your space and the humidity level you're dealing with, this can be a non-annoying dehumidifying machine. Great for small spaces like bathrooms and bedside tables.
Argendon Heavy Duty Metal Dehumidifier
A reliable, heavy duty, (almost) plastic free dehumidifier that you can drain directly into your sink by attaching a hose (gravity or pump) when needed instead of lifting a heavy bucket of water. It's the most expensive on this list, but it's uniquely made of mostly sheet metal instead of plastic, can handle even cold basement conditions, is high capacity, and is made by a commercial grade brand, so it lasts longer than the other residential options listed on this page. Can use in any room in your house — it's not cute, but is very effective. Check prices on their site or through Amazon.
Midea Cube Dehumidifier
Essentially every "best dehumidifier" testing round-up list has the Midea Cube as their number one pick. Interior Medicine's reviews expand beyond just what works best, and also take into account material health, home health, and your health, which is why I have GRS certified, quiet, and metal options listed first. That said, any dehumidifier you'll actually use and trust is a good dehumidifier, and Midea is a reputable, well rated brand. It doesn't have any additional health-forward features, but just decreasing moisture in your home to safe levels is good enough!
